ClickFlare vs Voluum: routing, CAPI, and event costs

ClickFlare lists CAPI from Starter and a lower entry price. Voluum documents weighted and AI distribution, but plan limits and tracking methods change the decision.

ClickFlare is the clearer entry-plan choice if outbound CAPI is essential: Starter lists $89 monthly, 1M events, and 10 CAPI integrations. Voluum Profit's base monthly configuration lists $149 for 1M events; its pricing table places CAPI postbacks at Agency as an add-on and Enterprise as included. For routing, compare the actual tracking method: ClickFlare direct tracking explicitly excludes path control. Voluum's distribution features also need a plan-and-transition check, not a generic feature tick.

This is a Tracked-authored comparison of two competitors, not an independent ranking. We reviewed first-party sources on October 28, 2026, using billing, event counting, conversion delivery, routing, team access, domains, and page ownership as decision criteria. We did not purchase subscriptions, run campaigns, or measure speed, attribution accuracy, match quality, uptime, or advertising performance. Vendor claims are not independent performance evidence.

ClickFlare vs Voluum at a glance

Which tracker costs less for your funnel?

Separate monthly prices from annual and promotional rates

ClickFlare's Individual monthly cards list Starter $89, Pro $219, and Master $429. Their yearly counterparts show $69, $169, and $329 per month. The pricing page also advertises Black Friday early-access prices “until Nov 8,” linking to a separate deal page. The comparison above uses standard cards, not an assumed promotional price or stacked discount. Organisation and custom plans are available above Master.

Voluum's page contains base monthly pricing of Profit $149, Scale $349, Start-up $599, Agency $999, and Enterprise $1,999. Its annual comparison headers show the lower monthly equivalents in the table above. The page's base annual configuration lists upfront totals of $1,428 for Profit and $3,588 for Scale.

Voluum also embeds discount configurations. The document sets window.discount = 0 in the response reviewed. We used the base configuration, not a cheaper dormant offer. That is source-level pricing evidence, not a verified checkout or a claim that every account receives identical terms. Confirm the active offer, currency, tax, billing cadence, renewal, and add-ons before purchasing.

At the published 5M-event tier, ClickFlare Pro has a lower monthly base price than Voluum Scale. That does not establish equal capacity for your operation: campaign limits, seats, event definitions, and conversion delivery differ.

Budget events, not just visitors

ClickFlare's pricing FAQ defines an event as a tracked action passing through its infrastructure: visits, clicks, conversions, and postbacks. Its redirect documentation separately records an initial visit and a lander-to-offer click. The documentation says the optional lander script does not double-count the same visit when redirect tracking also records it.

Voluum counts visits, clicks, conversions, and impressions. Its comparison table states that ten impressions count as one event. Its FAQ distinguishes a visit from an ad from a click on the lander's CTA.

Both pricing FAQs say tracking continues beyond the allowance and overages are charged. Neither event definition turns a visitor estimate into a dependable invoice by itself.

Give each vendor the same funnel diagram: ad arrival, lander CTA, offer, conversion callback, and any impression or custom-event requests. Ask how duplicates, retries, rejected callbacks, and outbound delivery affect billing. Do not assume one conversion callback creates exactly one charge across both systems.

Keep automation charges separate from tracking overages

Voluum's pricing lists $1,000 monthly included Automizer ad spend on Profit and Scale, with paid upgrades. Its Automizer section says those subscriptions sit on top of the regular Voluum subscription and lists a 1% overage above Automizer limits. This is a different meter from event overages.

ClickFlare says automatic cost sync is included on every plan, but separately prices faster API cost updates, domain packages, and Link Guard. Its faster-update table also carries a Master-plan qualification. Request a quote for the exact refresh interval and spend band you need rather than reading “included cost sync” as every interval at no extra charge.

Does ClickFlare or Voluum include the CAPI workflow you need?

Inbound postbacks and outbound conversion APIs are different connections. A network telling your tracker that a sale happened does not, by itself, send that sale to Meta or Google Ads. See the integration, postback, and conversion API guide for the separate responsibilities.

ClickFlare's pricing explicitly includes CAPI from Starter. Its conversion API page names Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn, and Snapchat. It describes selecting events, assigning campaigns, filtering conversions, and reviewing per-event success or failure and API errors. Provider descriptions distinguish matching by gclid, ttclid, msclkid, hashed email, and other provider-specific inputs.

“10 CAPI integrations” on Starter is a configuration allowance, not proof of ten distinct supported platform types. Confirm how multiple accounts or pixels consume that allowance.

Voluum's features page describes sending conversions to Google or Meta, including conversions recorded through postbacks. The pricing table supplies the commercial qualification: its “Conversion API postback for major traffic platforms” row names Facebook Ads, Google Ads, TikTok, Bing, and Yahoo. The row uses dashes on lower tiers, “add-on” on Agency, and “included” on Enterprise. Treat the lower-tier dash as requiring vendor confirmation, not proof that every conceivable outbound connection is impossible.

For either tracker, ask about your actual event name, identifiers, permitted customer data, consent, revenue, currency, deduplication, retries, and late conversions. Require the plan entitlement and add-on cost in the quote. A delivered event is not proof of an attributed sale or improved ad performance.

How does direct versus redirect tracking change routing?

ClickFlare: choose the transition before choosing the feature

ClickFlare's redirect method sends the visitor through its servers before the destination. Its guide lists traffic weights, rule-based paths, A/B tests, and AI optimization. These are route decisions made while the tracker controls the transition.

Its direct method sends tracking data from browser scripts after the visitor reaches the page. The guide explicitly says no path rotation, rule-based routing, A/B tests, or AI optimization. It also requires HTML access on the landing page or, for an offer-only setup, the offer itself.

The same guide lets you select the first transition separately from the second. A direct ad-to-lander setup therefore needs a separate decision about the lander-to-offer method. Do not buy an AI-routing promise without confirming which transition will actually pass through a supported route.

ClickFlare's pricing says AI Traffic Routing is included on every plan. That is a plan statement, not a reversal of the direct method's documented limitation. Traffic-source policies remain a separate requirement; neither method guarantees ad approval.

Voluum: distinguish manual weights, rules, and AI scope

Voluum's features describe weighted rotation of landers and offers, visitor-based rules, and AI distribution across landing pages, offers, and paths. Those are three different controls: you set weights, define conditions, or delegate distribution to an algorithm.

Its Scale card specifically labels Traffic Distribution AI “landing page level.” Do not assume that means AI path selection. The Profit card lists Traffic Distribution AI without that qualifier, but extracted feature names alone do not establish every enabled scope. Confirm the plan, transition, and entity level together rather than treating the plan ladder as a simple feature superset.

Voluum's FAQ documents mixed methods across the ad-to-page and page-to-offer transitions. Direct tracking needs scripts in the relevant page HTML. A third-party offer you cannot edit is therefore a different setup from an owned offer or a lander you control. The broad features page is not evidence that every direct-tracking transition supports all redirect routing.

What should teams confirm about domains and page ownership?

ClickFlare Starter lists five workspaces and zero additional users. Pro lists ten workspaces and two additional users; Master lists twenty and five. A workspace is not a human seat. Its domain allowances are three, six, and ten respectively.

Voluum Profit lists three workspaces and Scale five. Profit includes three custom domains plus a dedicated domain; Scale lists five custom domains plus a dedicated domain. A dedicated tracking domain is not another website host.

Voluum's Start-up seat counts are inconsistent: one card says two additional users, another says one additional and one read-only user, and the comparison table lists one additional user. We have not resolved that conflict. Confirm permissions and paid seat limits rather than converting read-only access into editing access. Entry-plan additional-user labels without a clear numeric allowance also need confirmation.

Voluum explicitly says you must host and design landing pages elsewhere. ClickFlare's direct setup requires scripts in page HTML; the sources reviewed do not establish a built-in page-hosting and visual-editing workflow. Keep your host, editor, domain management, and publishing process in the budget unless ClickFlare confirms a suitable alternative.

Which one should you choose?

Shortlist ClickFlare when you need published CAPI access from the entry tier, its numeric campaign allowances fit your workload, and its direct-versus-redirect limits fit your funnel. A redirect-heavy routing requirement and a direct-only traffic requirement are not interchangeable.

Shortlist Voluum when its reporting, workspace model, routing controls, and automation suit your existing operation. Price the required CAPI tier or add-on, Automizer spend, and campaign limits before comparing subscription totals. Confirm Scale's landing-page-level AI boundary and any unclear seat allowance.

If another tracker is already on your shortlist, the separate RedTrack vs ClickFlare and Voluum vs RedTrack articles cover those pairwise decisions. This comparison does not rank three products or establish an overall winner.

Where Tracked is today

Tracked is relevant when the bottleneck is moving between a tracker and a page editor. Its available core workflow includes HTML/ZIP page hosting, custom domains, visual editing, user-configured weighted and conditional routing, click and conversion tracking, inbound postbacks, reports, and event journeys.

Provider feedback has narrower boundaries. Google Ads click-conversion uploads using gclid, gbraid, and wbraid are available; that is not enhanced conversions. Configured server-to-server feedback for Taboola and NewsBreak is available. Meta support is partial: it accepts supplied event data, not automatic event mapping, identifier collection, or automatic postback-to-Meta delivery.

Universal CAPI, automatic winner selection, and governed cross-device attribution remain in development. Manual weights are not an automatic winner system. Tracked does not replace a required competitor workflow merely because both products mention routing or server-side events.

A displayed Tracked plan price does not establish purchase availability: paid checkout depends on matching live Stripe Prices being configured. Catalog limits remain display-only, not verified enforced capacity. We make no savings claim against either vendor. Evaluate the available workflow rather than assuming catalog-based feature or capacity parity.

Frequently asked questions

Is ClickFlare cheaper than Voluum?

ClickFlare Starter lists $89 monthly for 1M events, versus $149 in Voluum Profit's base monthly configuration. At 5M events, ClickFlare Pro lists $219 versus Voluum Scale's $349 base monthly. Annual equivalents, event definitions, CAPI packaging, automation charges, and campaign limits differ, so those prices do not prove a lower total bill for every funnel.

Can ClickFlare direct tracking rotate landing pages?

Its direct-tracking guide explicitly excludes rotation, rule-based paths, A/B tests, and AI optimization. Its redirect guide documents those controls. Choose the tracking method separately for each transition and confirm the intended routing setup before purchasing.

Does Voluum Profit include CAPI postbacks?

The current pricing table uses a dash for Profit, Scale, and Start-up in the CAPI postback row. It explicitly lists an Agency add-on and inclusion on Enterprise. Ask Voluum about the specific lower-tier connection you need; a generic feature-page mention does not establish Profit entitlement.

Do both trackers require access to landing-page HTML?

Their direct-tracking instructions require scripts in the relevant destination page. An offer-only direct setup requires offer-code access. With an owned lander and supported postbacks, you can separate lander tracking from the third-party offer's conversion callback. Voluum explicitly does not host pages; ClickFlare hosting was not established in the sources reviewed.

Will exceeding the monthly event limit stop tracking?

Both vendors' pricing FAQs say tracking continues and overages are billed. Their event definitions and rates differ. Confirm account-specific payment-failure rules separately; an event allowance and an unpaid subscription are different conditions.
