Digistore24 affiliate postback tracking in Tracked

A field-by-field Digistore24 setup for affiliates who need to connect campaign clicks to sales and commission in Tracked.

To attribute a Digistore24 sale to an ad click, send Tracked's click ID to Digistore24 as cid, then return Digistore24's {cid} in a server-to-server postback. The important test is not whether the callback URL responds: it is whether the returned ID resolves to the right campaign click and the right sale.

If you already have an approved Digistore24 affiliate partnership and a promo or content link, you can set this up without a thank-you-page pixel. Tracked handles the campaign URL, hosted landing page or other destination, offer click, generic postback, and attributed report. Digistore24 owns the affiliate link, sale event, and S2S integration settings.

The two identifiers you must not mix up

The ad platform may append its own click ID to the campaign URL. Tracked creates a separate ID for the offer click. Digistore24's cid field needs the Tracked ID if Digistore24 is going to send a sale back to Tracked. A Google Ads gclid, a Digistore24 campaign key, and a Tracked click ID serve different purposes.

Ad → Tracked campaign → landing page → /click/1
    → Digistore24 promo/content link?cid=TRACKED_CLICK_ID
    → sale → Digistore24 S2S postback?click_id=TRACKED_CLICK_ID
    → Tracked attributed conversion

See the click IDs versus UTM guide if your ad URL already has tracking parameters. UTMs can describe the source and creative, but they do not replace the ID used to join a sale to an offer click.

Create the offer in Tracked using your approved Digistore24 promo or content link. Append cid={{click.id}}, using ? if the link has no query string or & if it already has one:

https://www.checkout-ds24.com/redir/PRODUCT-ID/AFFILIATE-ID/CAMPAIGN-KEY?cid={{click.id}}

That is an illustrative URL, not a working affiliate link. Keep your real product, affiliate, and campaign identifiers. When a visitor follows a Tracked offer click, {{click.id}} should resolve to an opaque click value in the outgoing Digistore24 URL. Inspect that URL before spending on traffic; a literal {{click.id}} or an empty cid means the handoff failed.

Digistore24 also supports sid1 through sid5 for additional labels, but those fields should not be confused with the cid you will return as the attribution key. Its S2S setup guide documents the cid parameter, approved-link prerequisites, and allowed characters. Keep personal information out of the click ID.

Configure the Digistore24 callback

In Digistore24, an affiliate goes to Sales & partners → Integrations, adds an S2S postback integration, selects the affiliate partnership and order event, and enters a callback URL. Use the public Tracked dispatcher host for the campaign, not the app's signup hostname. The simplest primary-sale template is:

https://YOUR_TRACKED_DISPATCHER_HOST/postback?click_id={cid}

Digistore24's {cid} placeholder is expanded to the value you supplied on the affiliate link. Tracked's query parameter is named click_id; copying Digistore24's example cid= parameter into the Tracked callback would not match this endpoint's contract. Do not replace {cid} with a fixed sample value.

Digistore24 also documents {amount_affiliate}, {currency}, {transaction_id}, and {transaction_type}. It asks you to choose a currency for amounts sent by the integration. Add payout only after inspecting an actual callback or test payload and confirming that the affiliate amount is a plain numeric value compatible with Tracked's payout field. Its documentation shows a display example with a currency symbol, so do not assume the unverified template will parse as a number. Keep the primary-sale URL untyped initially: Tracked currently treats explicitly typed callbacks as secondary events with zero payout. If you need upsells, recurring payments, or reversals, map and test each event separately before relying on those totals.

Test with a fresh click, then reconcile the sale

  1. Open a new Tracked campaign URL and follow the page's offer CTA. Confirm the final Digistore24 link has a real cid value.
  2. Save that value and configure the S2S integration for the intended partnership and event. Make sure the integration is active.
  3. Use Digistore24's Test Connection control. Inspect Sales & partners → Integrations → Log for delivery details. A simulated test may not represent a real approved sale, so distinguish transport testing from revenue verification.
  4. For a real end-to-end purchase, ask the vendor to arrange a test purchase if needed; Digistore24 says affiliates cannot make a test purchase for the products they promote themselves.
  5. Confirm the callback resolves to the original Tracked click and appears once under the expected campaign and offer. Compare the commission and transaction against Digistore24 before using the figure for optimization.

If the callback is missing, inspect Digistore24's integration log first. If it arrived but the conversion is absent, check whether {cid} expanded, whether the ID belongs to a new Tracked offer click, and whether you used the dispatcher host and click_id parameter. Tracked responds differently to missing and unknown IDs; the postback troubleshooting checklist walks through those cases.

Where Tracked is today

Tracked supports a generic GET /postback endpoint and click-level campaign reporting. This guide does not imply a native Digistore24 account connector, automatic partnership setup, or automatic payout-format normalization. The safe integration is the documented cid handoff plus an event-by-event callback test. If your Digistore24 configuration sends a request format other than a GET URL with query parameters, use a small validated bridge rather than assuming the endpoint accepts that format.

Frequently asked questions

What goes into Digistore24's cid parameter?

The Tracked offer-click ID, inserted in the offer URL as {{click.id}}. Check the actual outgoing URL to verify that the macro resolved before expecting a postback to match.

Is cid the same as a Google Ads click ID?

No. The ad click ID can describe or connect the traffic-source side of the journey. The Digistore24 cid in this setup carries the Tracked offer-click ID that the Tracked postback can resolve.

Can I add payout to the Digistore24 postback?

Yes, after verifying the actual {amount_affiliate} output is a numeric amount in the currency you selected and that Tracked stores it as expected. Do not rely on an example display value containing a currency symbol.

Does Test Connection prove a real affiliate sale will be attributed?

No. It checks delivery with simulated data. A fresh offer click, a vendor-arranged test purchase where appropriate, and matching records in both systems are stronger proof.
